Glacial Bolt has a big targetting issue with controller
When playing with a controller, Glacial Bolt loses a lot of usefulness because the game seems to be auto-targetting the projectile on top of the monster's location *at the moment of firing*.
That means, if the monster is already moving towards you, the projectile hits behind him and the ice wall V does not affect him at all. Since you can't target a specific point with a controller (with a mouse you could skillfully lead the target), the game needs to either: - lead for the player, aiming slightly before the monster (so that at least slow-moving mobs can be stopped) but still hit it - or, the projectile should hit the monster in the face and stop it, i.e. manifest the wall between it an the player. If the latter is the intention, then it appears to not function correctly. Either the hitbox of the projectile is too small or the tip of the V is projected on top of the monster and it still goes through. Either way, I can almost never stop a rushing pack with this skill. The front line of monsters always make it throught, forcing me to retreat and defeating the purpose (I can't shatter the walls with a followup frag round if I'm running away). Ascend with precision. I’ve had this issue too. Really frustrating, I thought it was just a skill issue on my behalf .

Lots of skills do, the game needs a bind for lock-on/unlock to current target (I’d suggest right stick click)
(ALL typos lack of caps, punctuation and general errors are copyright Timbo Industries - Laziness Division) Any perceived disrespect is unintended, I have High Functioning Asperger's and its socially inept. Last edited by Timbo Zero#8289 on Dec 11, 2024, 4:52:26 PM

" I believe this is what the "Focus Fire" action does (it's the raised finger in bindable actions). With focus fire OFF, I believe it targets on a best-effort basis based on the deflection of the right stick. With focus fire ON, it holds on to the current target (it's sticky once acquired) and right stick is used for changing targets. My beef with this system is, I don't know (in either mode) WHAT is my character targetting. Even a simple focus reticle like in Elden Ring would improve things a lot, I believe.
