Suggestion for the "honor" system

Gotta say nothing more irritating that having game progression locked behind a mechanic that can auto fail you.

Instead why not just have the honor system be a metered reward/buff?

i.e. 90% honor or better after completerion get 1 of every key, 50 to 90% bronze and silver 20 to 50 just bronze, lower than 20 nothing.

Also maybe make the mob/boss do more damage the less honor you start with for the room?


However despite teh challenge it creates this is a serious gate that casual style players wont get through without some serious tuning. Heck personally i had to fully respec my character because i was a melee monk and i had to kite that boss with jsut glacial cascade. The more i played the trial the more i realise i was jsust lucky that my last 2 rooms were honor heals and i got a merchant with the omen dagger.

Agreed. Really don't like Honor being implemented as a auto-fail and a gatekeeping mechanic, at least not for something as crucial as Prestiging. Creates too much discord between how people want to play and how you have to play to progress when it's holding back such a powerful reward.

I don't mind the idea of how Honor works if it was for some kind of infinite "get as far as you can" scenario, but it's not a good system for something with a finite ending and very defined reward. Save it for something with a leaderboard and bragging rights, not a progression gate.
Personally I would just keep the honour system as it is through the trials but when you make it to the final boss the honour you have left "locks" and you don't lose any on the final boss.

It's a bit crap having to worry about an auto fail while fighting a boss that puts hazards down on the floor, has stuff fall from the ceiling, and does large slam AoEs all in what is a fairly small room. Like, it's so easy to take hits from something in that fight because of all the stuff going on in a fairly cramped space.

Oh is that why the Ascendency system is so bad and I die randomly through no fault of my own 90% of the time.

Yeah, I'm going to stop playing for a bit. Next patch should be interesting.
just bring back old system. honor so dumb higher tier worse it is. like trap hits you for 1k honor like what ? or you fight a boss and u get tapped by something and lose like 2k honor in second lol and fact that the stupid coin u need well..... i seen one t3 coin and about 40 t2 coins makes sense.
Just spent THIRTY MINUTES getting midway through the 3rd level of sanctum..

Had 3500/4250 honor. I hit a switch to open a door and immediately poison gas killed my honor in 0.5s. Didn't even have a chance to move.
