(PoE2)Ps4 Controller (dualshock 4) disconnection triggers system crash
Bug Report: Game Crashes and PC Reboots After PS4 Controller Disconnects on PC
1. Bug Summary: Description: When using a PS4 controller on PC, if the controller disconnects (e.g., due to low battery), the game logs the player out and then crashes. Additionally, the game crash triggers a system crash, causing the PC to reboot automatically. Expected Behavior: If the PS4 controller disconnects, the game should either pause or provide an error message without logging the player out or causing a system crash. Actual Behavior: The game logs out the player, crashes, and leads to a complete system reboot. 2. Steps to Reproduce: Connect a PS4 controller to the PC via USB or Bluetooth. Start the game and begin playing. Allow the PS4 controller’s battery to drain or manually disconnect the controller (e.g., by turning off the controller or unplugging it). Observe that the game logs you out, crashes, and causes the PC to reboot automatically. 3. Impact Assessment: Severity: Critical – This issue not only affects the gameplay but also causes the system to reboot, leading to potential data loss or progress disruption. Frequency: Always occurs when the controller disconnects unexpectedly. Impact on Gameplay: Causes significant interruption to gameplay and crashes the system, making it unplayable with a PS4 controller. Environment: Platform: PC OS: Windows 11 Game Version: persistent on all EA versions so far Controller: PS4 DualShock 4 (via Bluetooth) Hardware: Nvidia Geforce RTX3060Ti, 12th gen Intel i5 12600K, 32GB RAM, Nvidia driver version 566.36, FUll HD Monitor with 165hz refresh rate. Report fleshed out with ChatGPT for concision. I can provide a video if required. Despite all that hassle I still love EA so far and hope you dont nerf comet. Thanks!
