Destroyed final letter in act 2 now cannot get another and complete quest - have re run the zone multiple times but never can i get another one

Same for me, i had the letter in my bag. Didnt know what to do with it. Took it with me and progressed to cruel act 2. Then i saw it dropping again,threw the old one away and now i can't optain it anymore.
