Received -20% resistance penalty from cruel act 3 (-70% in total)

I am deep into maps (character's name is Hawkfire). I wanted to do a trial of chaos and accidentally clicked on Joquani's Machinarium in cruel act 3. I saw on the map that Blackjaw is marked as not-killed (I realised later that I had already killed him). I killed Blackjaw and received the item that rewards you with +10% to fire resistance (again). I clicked on it and now I have -20% resistance penalty from cruel act 3 (the item applied -10% to all my resistances?).

EDIT: It's fine in some maps (it depends on the area?). Some maps apply the additional -10% resistance that they should NOT, some maps don't.

Seconded, started happening to me too at tier6-7 maps, lvl 77-78 and is now permanently -70 all elemental resistances in my hideout, in Ziggurat Refugee and some maps.

When this started happening to me though, I didn't use another one of the resistance items or anything. It just randomly appeared after mapping and now it's plaguing me every other map.

I also tested this on an alt character - it also received the -70% resistance penalty in the same maps, but not hideout.

UPDATE: I am now missing an additional 10% to all resistances out of nowhere. I was doing maps and I opened my character panel in hideout, that's when I noticed.

It happened to me it may have reset ressistances that we got from side quests

same to me,I don't want to open the game at all until it's fixed.

to be honest,pay more attention on fix bug pls,Don't only think about how to Weaken Player every day.

look around this Forum, you guys really think it worth 30 USD?

You can definitely do better.

Same problem here, around maps level 6, i get penalized -10% to all res.

This is an expected mechanic of PoE: resistances go down every act, forcing you to get better gear or take more damage. It's part of the difficulty ramp.

I dont think you understand. We did get -10 for each act (-60 total) then we did act's side quests which combined gives +20 to each resistance. And at some point in mapping we lose those bonus resistances and some of us even get minus resistance (-70 instead of -60)

Edit: I hope you get it now that it can completely brick your build if you bought gear worth 100ex with those bonus resistances in mind and then you lose those so you have to get new gear.
