Standalone from Steam question.

Can/should i use the same email my steam PoE is on when i try to log to standalone client? Create new password? My steam account is linked and i can log using steam credentials and i can the acc details (characters, purchases) on PoE website all i need it seems is to have the email and password added.

The normal procedure if you're using Steam is to log to the POE.com account using your Steam creds then under your parameter set up an email/password to be able to connect via the standalone.
The creds for Steam and your POE account are separate things so you can use different emails (mine are different for example).

Exactly, no problem. Just make the change directly in your POE.com account.
Many people having issue by having 2 accounts otherwise so be sure to follow the correct steps provided by GGG :

If you would like to associate an email address with your account, you can do this through the Path of Exile site.

Please log into our website on your Steam account, using "Sign in through STEAM" here: https://www.pathofexile.com/login

Next, you can add an email address through Manage account -> Change Email: https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/change-email

Once you've done this, you should be able to log into the stand-alone client using your email address and password
