Controller problems - can't loot in combat, 'stash' changing to 'drop'

The first seems to be an issue with the way looting/using in combat is handled You cannot loot items off the ground in combat like in Diablo 4 with controller if you're engaged in combat. However, you *can* loot if you hold right stick in a direction (generally roughly towards the item, not always), then press interact, but this is very inconsistent. Additionally, looting/interacting seems to be considered an 'action' on controller, that is, it's not instant like clicking loot with a mouse, if you're in the middle of any combat action (e.g. moving and shooting with merc), it will not loot. This behavior persists regardless of whether interact is double bound to a skill or single bound to a button alone. This is *extremely* annoying in group play with temp loot permission set, because you can't loot 'your' loot in combat, teammates on mkb can and will take everything in combat. This is downright *lethal* in the Sekhema trial, because during the escape trial you need to be able to interact with the crystals, and guess what, odds are good you're going to be in combat near them. 2) I have no explanation or repro for this, I came back to town and suddenly Y for 'Stash item' was Y for 'Drop item', which is uh, not ideal obviously. This also happened at the end of a non-ascendancy coin rolled Trial in the loot room, it would not let me switch to mkb to use my inventory, so I had to pick up and move items one by one from my inventory to my stash using the digital/analog sticks, annoying to say the least. And more annoying when interact prioritized my portal, kicked me out of the trial, and I lost all remaining loot on the ground. edit: This happened after completing act 2 but before reaching the first town in act 3, when I reached the town it went back to 'stash' instead of 'drop' Last edited by xessos#5407 on Dec 10, 2024, 5:00:45 AM Last bumped on Dec 17, 2024, 9:31:27 AM

An update on the weird stash changing to drop bug on controller, it happened again during the transition from A4 to A5, in the camp before you get on the caravan proper, so it looks to be something with the interstitial 'non town' zones that have a stash

Same here with the stash view suddenly dropping instead of quick move.
Also very annoying beind unable to loot important items during combat. Especially with all theese deadly ground effects, means I have to back track alot if I'm using controller. |

And yes, after playing another many hours, the looting on controller is just intolerably bad I can't really say how to fix it other than 'go play Diablo 4 and see how they do it there' and copy that or something, it's just deeply unpleasant to use right now in PoE, occasionally actively dangerous, and aggravating in party play I think the core issue is that looting is treated as an 'action', rather than something you can do at any time (and this applies whether the interact button is bound separately or dualbound to a skill), and having that combined with looting turning off any time enemies are around (ie, always) is infuriating |
