Bug: Unable to "Pick up the Essence of Water"

I'm in Act II doing the "The City of the Seven Waters" quest. I have this bug where it says I need to "pick up the essence of water", but there is nothing to pick up.

Here's what happened:

1. Was in a party of 3 people . Traveled to Keth. Did Lost City -> Buried Shrine.
2. Beat the boss (Azarian).
3. We then went to town without going to the next room and meeting the water goddess. One of us logged off.
4. The other 2 of us went back in our portal, clicked the water goddess, which burned her, and then it said "pick up the essence of water". However that item wasn't on our screen. She just dropped a bunch of random white items.
5. My friend logged off (not character select; not game exit). He logged back in. It didn't put him back in my instance. He joined a new instance where the goddess was on the table again. He clicked her again, she burned again, and this time she dropped the water for him.
6. However for me, I tried that and it didn't work. She's on the table again, wounded, but unclickable, unable to be burned. And it still says "pick up the essence of water", as if she was clicked / burned already.

What I tried:
* Log off, log back in.
* Log to character screen, log back in.
* Exit game, log back in.
* Leave the area, log off, log back in, and re-enter the portal.

But none of this worked :(

Problem disappeared when I played the next day. Had to kill boss again.
