Mana siphon rares are unacceptable in their current state.

How are you supposed to counterplay mana siphon rares as a melee? You step inside for two seconds and all your mana is gone. Are you just supposed to basic attack the rare to death? Not to mention, you are never escaping that aura once you get close.
As for range, the mana siphon rares are pretty much always faster than the player. I have movement speed boots, and movement speed nodes on the passive tree, playing a ranger, and still couldn't outrun the mana siphon mob. The heck is the counterplay? Basic attacks again? A product of the layout change tbh. Most places are now tight corridors intended for monsters to body block you. Mana siphon is way stronger in this situation.

If this is how it works the new vfx is awful. It was pretty clear in PoE1 there was a safe zone. In PoE2 it just looks like all around fuck you zone of bullshit.
