Blood Mage Ascendancy is bad and underpowered

There was a lot of speculation going on before EA about this but I'm here after release to voice my opinion about this.
I'm a lvl 50 Blood mage and the ascendancy absolutely sucks, sanguimancy doesn't sustain you nearly as often as you want it to, you cannot pick blood magic, because it makes it so spells cost double the life and i ended up killing myself a few times before realizing it. Detonate dead is costing me 218 life per cast after picking blood magic, which would be fine but: The 10% of Spell damage Leeched as life node is not working at all, I'm dealing 25k damage to bosses and I'm barely leeching 100 life, the node that makes you take 25% of damage over time is also very weak and doesn't help nearly as much as i thought it would. I deeply regret picking blood mage and i hope GGG buffs it in the future, right now it makes no sense to play it. Wish we could respect our ascendancies. Last bumped on Dec 29, 2024, 8:16:07 AM

Infernalist isn't much better, my dog is cute but seems I can't use him for DPS :(

Leech is bugged right now, with 6,000 dmg comets healing for about 100 hp during my testing (while costing 160 life+mana to cast).

Agreed I just chose and immediately respec into the first node 3% for hp oddly enough this is enough for me to live! Especially since I’m HC.. I think they need to change that blood downgrade or make at least later tier augment the amount you lose or make it suck blood from the enemy to empower you idk.. or at least make it leech blood or cause bleeding very fast… idk it’s just bad no upgrade… I did love the last tier on the right side which is like a reverse Ghostwrithe and the infinit curse.. but you HAVE to get the life sanguine… this was not what I expected
