Failed 2nd ascension trial - is my character bricked?

I passed the first one and failed on the second. I have been playing for 6 hours and have not gotten a second token.

- I went to the NPC and she does not offer another token
- I re-killed the boss that gave me the second token - no dice
- I have killed another half a dozen bosses while progressing act 2 - no token


Is there a magic secret to getting another token? Or do I have to re-roll?

I just took the token out when i failed and used it again to try again. I had a really hard time on it with getting zerged so was coming back later

The token is a quest item and doesn't get consumed unless you complete the trial successfully.

I tried several times using the same token. Go back to the trial and check the pedestal or your inventory to locate it.

Turns out, I had a second token drop in act 2 after I completed the first ascendancy. I thought that token was for the second ascendancy but I was mistaken. I was informed the second ascendancy is in act 3.
So maybe the bug was getting a second token for the first trial?

You get given other tokens so you can go back and farm the end rewards. If you want to. Ultimatum does this as well.
