Please let us DOWNGRADE skill gem levels

Once you touch cruel difficulty or maps (Endgame) you start dropping only level 14+ Uncut Skill Gems

You can easily create level 14 spirit gem and then destroy/sell gear with high attribute and you simply brick your aura/active skill, because attribute requirement is too high.

Why is there no way to just downgrade skill/aura from level 14 to 10 maybe? or even level 1 until you fix attributes?
- You cannot salvage skill/uncut
- You cannot disenchant skill/uncut
- You cannot reforge 3 uncuts into lower level one for example (wrong item type)

Should we just farm level 20 zones and hope we will drop low level uncut gems to fix build? You cannot buy skill gems from market, only player-to-player trade.

That's why you had in PoE1 options to buy level 1 OR reduce level with regret/scour, because stat/mana requirements changes over time and you need to fix your build
In PoE2 you can literally brick your build in endgame or restrict yourself to useless passive tree/useless gear (with needed attributes) so you can play your build...

I have no issue until play it for 2 weeks. When in endgame, I want to have lower level skill to make it lower mana cost. But I already have 5L or 6L on my skill, so I need to get another perfect orb for the lower new level gem.......? what?

So I strongly demand that GGG will have a downgrade level system for gem!

Yes, this is an issue. The sockets should be for your char skill tab and not the skill gems itself. You should be able to change what skill gem goes into your 5 sockets, just like what happened in PoE.

They could solve this by adding a level setting to the skill tab (where the "always attack without moving" setting is) that let you select active level between 1 and the gem's level.
