Plot and lore

Okay, so I know it's nowhere near a focus of the game, but I actually really like the lore of PoE. Wraeclast and Oriath, and the history of both, make a wonderful setting.

I would love for a future Development Manifesto to touch on this aspect of the game - What were your inspirations, what are some things we don't know, what does Oriath look like? - And so forth.

I may legitimately be alone in this, but I just want whoever wrote this up for us to know that I appreciate your work, and I can't wait for new Acts to show us more.
And while you're at it, please get Steven Erikson to throw it all together in a novel series...

Pretty please :)

Never argue with a zombie, he'll drag you down to his level and eat your brains.
You should ask Erik...

But some of his inspirations are H. P. Lovecraft's works and the Hellboy GN series.

We're actually working on adding more story stuff to the existing acts... hopefully to be released before or by Act 3x. And of course Act 4 and beyond will extend the story even further.

why did you do this to me , i usually never care about lore :( , but im a huge lovecraft fan , now i have to read everything in the game :(
Yes, the lore is quite good and I do enjoy the way it is delivered. The voice acting is superb as well, and really draws you in. This was how I felt with Diablo 1 when reading or hearing the voices from the Horadrim books.
GGG listens to its fans!!! Thank you!

Lovecraft and Hellboy! I <3 you guys! I hope this means that we'll have a truly epic end boss that rivals the Ogdru Jahad, or even Cthulhu!

The lore has been really interesting so far. I hope Erik can create a post giving us a taste of the content we can expect in the future. I for one would like to find out more about the characters that are referenced in the game and through the uniques- Maligaro/Shavronne/Lioneye etc.

It's not that bad. The dialogue is very good for the lore and backstory.

Some uniques give insight as well.
"Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark
Oh man, would love some more lore =p
Theres so much lore alluded to in the quests, in dialogue, in the unique's flavor text, I love trying to piece together what the actual back story is =)
Drop some more breadcrumbs dammit!

Woo! Thank you, Erik! (Hopefully he comes by to share a bit more~)

Thank you as well, Rhys. Not just for your reply here, but your fervent, obsessive work dealing with us Unwashed Masses.

That's exactly how I felt about it - Like Diablo 1, when the setting was still awe-inspiring, and not run into the sands by the tramping feet of ten million heros.
This game felt like a fever dream at times; you can see the influences. Even more clearly with people being corrupted and eaten inside out.
