POE 2 feels off

I struggle to even compile in what I want to write because somehow I have fun while at the same time I struggle hard with certain things on how the game currently works. I just list them up.

The damage of some skills is abysmaly low. Following the normal route given by the game, I have boss encounters which take 5-30 minutes depending on the boss. It´s just player vs. eyelids.
The bosses are nice, the scripts are good most of the time, aside from weird dodge roll double cast & hit animations the boss has weird reactions to or invisible hits randomly. I don´t get it, for a "slow" gameplay, the amount of things happening at the same time is crazy. So it´s randomly between killing a boss dodging all the time while the fight takes ages or the encounters oneclapping you because of certain things happening. Act 2 Azarian reducing the already small arena to half the size of his AOE attacks, creating burning ground everywhere but the place he´s constantly slamming AOEs is absurd. If I´d not run a somewhat busted build I would have ended the game there. No regen with ES since burning ground, encounter taking ages since it´s a boss and you need to deal enough damage. It´s by no way the difficulty, I mean I beat him. It´s the part where you´re still in the story and some builds are bricked completly because of how an encounter works and how much damage you deal. There is no balance, it´s plain and simple boredome for those that can beat them and shear insanity for those that can´t.

Trials. I can beat them, I did, I got my 2/4 and fail both times you get the chance in act "5", cruel 2, so now I need to find a random encounter once again or fight through the trials of chaos (which I hoped to use for Ascendancy 4/4). I failed Trials because:
1. The game DCed me when I was in the loot room, leaving me without an asendency redeem...
2. Died with nearly full honor and full ES, the current encounter was finished and my character just folded. I thought chaos damage does not go through ES?
3. The trial of chaos ground AOE effect is as big as the arena and the space to survive is filled with monster you can´t kill as fast leaving you to be oneshot. Character was 10 level above the area.
Trials wouldn´t be as bad, if you had the chance to do them whenever you want, given the long time it takes to run through them. Also please add a stash tab to the last room of the chaos trial, sanctum has one, chaos not?!

Skill gem progression is nice, without a doubt. However the support gems are a pain. Why does it take hours over hours to get a new skill and you´re only allowed to combine each support gem once (without specific Ascendencies ofc). Limiting like this in an ARPG is a joke, the freedom to play is gone. I thought POE 2 wanted to enable nice things and not cripple one into very specific builds?

Maps are stagnant and plain, not graphics design - oh boy they look nice but the feeling is off. You have a small area, monsters will run into it. You have a big area? Expect an amush. Everywhere. Every map. Every layout. If you need to enable your build like I need to, as long as the conditions are not met, you deal way less damage and just backtrack the map for every pack of monster until everything dies, pull the rare into the biggest group of corpses and start blasting detonate dead. I´m bored to death and I haven´t even finished the acts.

Currency drops is fine for me. However, aside from the very first weapon which hit nearly perfect rolls (for lvl 6) I did not have the chance to craft anything meaningful afterwards. I spent tens of exalted orbs, alchs randomly on items, and collect every rare to keep crafting. 30 hours in, 1 item. That´s not what I expected when it was said the crafting should be a bigger factor compared to POE. In POE I have my vendor recipes, which grant me a bazillion times more usefull items, that I get in POE2.

Loot drops are 90% of the time for another builds or class. This is an old problem and I think it´s not understandable. While other ARPGs (not speaking about Diablo) made it difficult to find loot, I don´t mind looting less, but if this is even further reduced by not being for my build I´m done. If I want to play a casino game, I´d rather not play POE. Currently the difficulty behind POE 2 is all tied to RNG based on the class you choose. Melee but no good melee weapon? Be stuck in the same Act for hours, repeating to grind useless things while you get good gear for classes you´re not playing, which vise versa noone wants to buy because it´s still too bad for selling. Be a caster? Here, have you´re 10000th bow with leech and 2-5 fire damage at lvl 60. You´re playing fire and finally a staff drops? Here, have one with lightning, which does not even interact unlike lighting to frost or frost to fire.

Random DCs are happening, ranging from getting kicked out of the game into the login screen to freezing in maps for no apparent reason. If you guys at GGG want a DxDiag file, please say so. Those crashes cost me more time than anything else in the game and re-exploring the super big maps is a pain, especially if you haven´t found the next exit.


Overall I find the game very interesting and nice but I struggle hard to see an appeal for a longer time as it is currently. There is too much to break your head over and you´d rather keep playing another game than experience constant demotivation and motivation cycles. I´m too old for that sh+t.

What the hell is the bullsh*t will fighting bosses on hc when they fill the whole arena with fire or poison?? You can't dodge it so either you miss the boss and just return when your 10 levels past it or just die. I want to play hard core not cheesy Sc but the stupid mechanics where the full arena is Aoe damage is absolutely stupid. Who agrees ? What the hell is that about I don't want to be over powered and underwhelmed to fight these bosses. I'll just smash the game out on sc underwhelmed as Sc is Cheese and I'll be done with it when i complete no point playing Hc with stupid mechanics like that be over powered or dont bother fighting these bosses return whe your 10+ above the area
