Upgrading PC for possible performance increase

Hi, I'm here looking for advice from someone knowledgable.

I want to upgrade my PC to perform better for PoE2. Currently I have a i5-10400f and a Radeon RX 6600 and currently get 30 FPS in town and around 50-70 elsewhere on mid graphics with everything set to low. Is there a small upgrade I can do to higher my FPS and to play without frame drops? The game is really poorly optimized for low/mid tier rigs.

Won't help upgrading and if it do, expect minimal change. People with beast of pc's can't run either PoE1 or 2 good. I am getting real fed up as I have problems that can be dated back quite a while ago and I can't remember seeing any feedback about it.

Today I even had ok performaance considering everything and then i updated and things become worse.

One could had hoped for more info where the problem might be at least.
