Trial of Chaos Rage Quit

I want to say I have always hated Ultimatum in PoE1 and avoided it like the plague. When I heard it was going to be a new way to get ascendencies, I was already groaning hard. That it is supposed to be an alternative to Sanctum which I hate even more does not help at all.

So, while I kinda managed to do the Sanctum one, I wanted to give Ultimatum a chance. I regret it immensely. Not only did I never even manage to reach the boss, it also cost me the first unique I had drop in my 10th failed attempt in a row. That's the moment I did Alt+F4 and had to step away from the PC because I was fuming at the decision.

Mind you, I am not complaining about the difficulty in other parts of the game, that is fine, even if I die more to getting stuck somewhere and swarmed before I get beaten down my a mob of normal enemies than any boss thus far. While the contagion-essence drain witch I am playing does feel kinda weak and unsatisfying in act 3, it's not that big of an issue to me.

The huge problem to me is hiding a power spike behind mechanics which I consider the worst of PoE1 and made even more horrible by how slow and clunky you are compared to PoE1. It might actually make me quit PoE2 entirely until they change something about it, or give us a better alternative to get ascendency points.

I believe you can do sanctum for your second trial too, + there's gonna be a third trial options closer to full release aswell.

3 options to choose from is so good compared to the old lab.

I'm sorry to hear that you lost a unique over it, but then you'll have to get stronger before you try again? You don't need your ascendency to progress, so go back and grab it when you feel comfortable.
