Sekhemas Trial during group

We were incredibly frustrated tonight: first off, not knowing how honor works, then after a quick google, still not sure how honor works. We were running as a party of 4. 2 rangers, 1 war, 1 witch. During the numerous attempts we made, I noticed that *SOMETIMES* our honor is shared, and other times it isn't. Sometimes someone will run out of honor and everyone will take a 50-100 honor hit, and sometimes someone will run out of honor and everyone will die(even if they still have near full honor). Sometimes one person(our newbie to the ARPG genre) will wait in a corner, avoiding ALL damage, and start losing honor, while mobile or stationary. Other times, I'll hear one of my team yell that they got hit by a trap or a big mob, and I'm across the map. We both take honor damage. Sometimes we don't.

We're also experiencing this same issue to the letter. Is there clarity on if this intended and how this works?
