How can a Ranger get minions?

I'm confused on if I learn it through a Skill Gem or if I have to get another weapon.

you get an uncut skill gem and you cut it into a minion skill and socket it, and then you equip gear with spirit which you then reserve on your minion

" Ah ok so it's just the Spirit you need on any gear, doesn't have to be a specific weapon..? What if I equip into a second set slot a weapon with Spirit, would that qualify for the Minion skill? |
