Merged steam and Sony lost character

I merged by accounts, because I was trying to be able to play my steam deck. I had a poe 1 account which I don't care about and I thought linking it to my ps5 account with my existing character would let me play the same character on both platforms. I just logged back into my playstation to find my character gone. I spent wlot of money on the ps5 character. Is there anyway to undo all the damage I've done? I'm sick. I emailed support but who knows how long they will take to respond with all the requests I'm sure they have

Fixed it!

My solution was to buy the game again on Steam, hoping that logging in on a PC would give me more options, as the PS5 screen is bare with limited options. When I signed into the game on Steam, there was a login button, and at the top right, an option to swap profiles. I swapped to the profile my PlayStation account was linked to and was surprised to see my character. I logged into my character from Steam, then logged out. I went back to the PlayStation, booted up the game, and my character and all my purchased items were back. I didn't want to write all this, but I saw so many others struggling, so I thought I'd post my solution in case it helps.

Oh so on PS5 you don't have the option to select the subaccount?

Correct, Console options do not let you select profile initially. Now that I swapped them though, I see the option to swap profiles on my PlayStation now which is weird because it 100% wasn't there before I did the steam login.

Wow that's weird indeed. I only play PC so no idea about the console.. A bit bad that you had to buy another version to do the switch though.. Apparently POE2 has cross-progression so now you can play on both platform since you purchased both haha

Yea I planned on playing on steam deck and PC a little anyway I just wish the purchases carried over so I didn't have to buy the stash upgrades twice.
