Monster shotgun abilities need to get nerfed.
Playing Warrior myself and watching streamer clips of "1 hit" deaths I can't help but notice how they all die to same abilities. The culprit is the boss attack hitting the player multiple times at once aka "shotgunning" the player, most obvious example Draven fireball spread that can absolutely shotgun the player.
IMO the shotguns need to be outright removed or alternatively their telegraphs need to be way longer. Example Draven again, either all fireballs hitting you at once only count as one fireball, or Draven spends more animation time preparing the attack so people up close can get away from him. It should be a general policy of balance across the game because even if you tweak out the damage numbers in campaign, those shotguns will inevitably become an issue in endgame maps anyway. "Shotgunning effect" was already the #1 reason why Multiple Projectiles was such a dangerous map mod in PoE 1 and why everyone hated the first iteration of Tier 17 maps. With a map mod you can blame yourself for taking a willing risk but if the mechanic is baked in the standard content then it becomes a problem. Last bumped on Dec 8, 2024, 9:46:13 AM
