POE 2 Refunding Ascendancy Passives That Grant Skills Consumes Socketed Support Gems

I just refunded the Loyal Hellhound and the small Minion Life node proceeding it, now the support gems that were socketed into the skill are gone. They aren't in my inventory, they aren't on the ground, and they don't appear to be considered socketed anymore since I can carve uncut support gems into them. I believe I had Meat Shield and Last Gasp socketed.

I did this in the Sandswept Marsh, an area where items can drop on the floor, so I'm guessing they're just gone now. If I were diligent (and not poor) I'd quick put those points back and see if my gems returned, but alas, I am not currently a wealthy man.
