Stop despawning loot on death

I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but if it is, who thought it was smart? If I kill a boss, then get killed by the flood of adds it spawned, the loot the BOSS dropped shouldn't disappear. I really hope this is a bug, because if it isn't, it's going to make endgame incredibly unfun, considering how often you could get one-shot in PoE at endgame.

Dying reverting you to a checkpoint in general feels bad, but that's absolutely the worst. Happened to me when fighting Rathbringer in Act 2. I wasn't even sure I completed the quest.
It has happened to me twice now where after killing a boss I either will die to DoTs or to their minions, it is absolutely gut wrenching to see the rare or uniques drop on the floor only to die and respawn at the boss checkpoint to find that all the loot isn't there.

I feel it's stunted my character's progress too as rare/magic packs of mobs scarcely if ever drop an upgrade, most upgrades I've gotten have come from boss fights and it feels like an obstacle to my character progression when said upgrades disappear upon death..

Would like to see the change implemented to have the items remain even after death, after all you did defeat the boss.
one of the many reasons the game is not very fun.
