a1 sorc feels really bad

Early game support gems aren't really useful at all. I don't need more duration on my orb, I don't need mana regen at all, I don't need pierce on spark, and I don't need a bigger chance to shock. I need damage.

This exacerbates the issue of drop luck. I've been unlucky with drops, so it's taking me a minute or two to kill an elite, bosses are even sloggier. The A1 boss is just killing me by attrition because he's taking so long to die, and I can't kill the adds fast enough to even really get my flask charges back up.

Oh don't say that in the chat in game... the newcomers which are all the Dark Souls toxic fanbase will spam "git gud" in the chat cause they don't understand the genre at all and think this is an "amazing game"

The game is atrocious... it's NOT FUN... you don't feel powerful, you feel like a weakling that is barely hanging on for dear life...

All Skills hit like wet noodles and are not satisfying at all... it took me 20 tries to kill the Act 1 boss... THE ACT1 BOSS!!! Leveling is supposed to be chill and fun in ARPGs to teach you the game and you can sweat your ass off in endgame maps...

They made "The Dark Souls of ARPGs" and that will alienate the true fanbase of the game very fast... they'll be left with 10k sweatlords while PoE1 hit 280k concurrent players 10 years after release!!!

And the tone-deaf content creators are praising this game like there's no tomorrow... because this game is made ONLY for them and not for the everyday gamer...

PoE2 is NOT PATH OF EXILE... it's a Dark Souls wannabe that sucks the life and soul out of you...

You just have to craft a weapon and you're set for A1. I didn't have problem clearing it at all. A2/A3 is where it starts to get harder.

I concur with the OP. Started as a Witch, but it felt the same as Sorceress. The support gems available for a caster in Act 1 were a bit lackluster.
I tried to craft a weapon multiple times, but my rolls were garbage and its not like we're drowning in currency. I cleared him pretty quickly after I got a crumb of spell damage though.

I think early skill levels just need a bit more base damage to alleviate item luck. Without any damage mods I was dying around the 5 minute mark with his second phase still at half HP. With 1 damage mod I cleared him in under 5 minutes altogether.

Well then PoE2 is not for you... in PoE2 you either glaze and praise the game endlessly like it's the best thing you've ever seen or you need to "git gud" or leave the game because you have "skill issues"

That's the truth... modern gamers don't give a shit about constructive criticism...

The chat in game is toxic af while PoE1 chat if you actually ask something, someone will give you an answer... in PoE2 they'll just laugh at you and tell you to "git gud or uninstall" and you'll be med by a thousand "lol" answers instead of somebody actually answering your fucking question...

So yeah, the game attracted the worst fanbase in the world... the infamous "real gamers" which are the sweaty virgins that think anyone that doesn't crank up the difficulty to 1000 is ruining games for them and are so vocal that they kick out the chill players from every game they take over...

This game will NEVER be fixed... because when the "git gud" mob takes over the devs only tend to them...
Ember fuselage saved me in a1. Flame wall is really good too and incinerate does decent damage, so the cold and lightning spells probably need a balance pass
