Computer locking up when going into areas
|
Problem:
In 6hrs of gameplay, I have had around 10 crashes when moving between areas, or even when entering the game from the character selection menu. It doesnt matter if I have entered an area before, it will just randomly crash when entering one. These crashes completely lock up my PC, forcing me to do a full power cycle of the PC. None of the keyboard shortcuts work, CTRL + ALT + DEL, Win + Tab etc, a full power cycle is needed as the PC is completely unresponsive. Computer specs: Windows 11 Home Version 10.0.26100 Intel i7-7820X Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 32GB RAM Using Nvidia driver 566.36. Game Settings: Running the game through Steam DX12 Windowed Fullscreen - 2560 x 1440 HDR - Off DLSS - Quality VSYNC - Off Triple Buffering - On Multithreading - On Dynamic Resolution - On Nvidia Reflex - On Dynamic Culling - Off FPS Cap - Off on both All other details settings on default. Troubleshooting: Previously running an older version of the Nvidia drivers, I updated this evening to driver version 566.36 and have had 3 full system crashes since in 2hrs of gameplay. I have also tried turning off various settings and lowering graphics detail settings but nothing has helped, still having random crahses when entering areas or loading my character from the selection screen. Even made a new character and issue still persists. I have revalidated the game files through steam, still crashes. Event Viewer also shows no information on my system crashing or the cause, it doesnt record any details because a full power cycle is needed. I've even tried leaving the game when my PC is fully locked up, to see if anything eventually happens, but nothing. This is also happening to me too. It seems to not happen the first time I play after a reboot, but if I close out of POE2 and then try to get back into it, my computer will completely freeze up shortly into loading after selecting a character.
