Same here, had to hard-quit the game.
For additional info this was during my first attempt, after failing an "Escape" trial, while playing on Playstation 5. |

Same issue but on console - Series S. have to close the game completely. Spawns you at the entrance

same issue, on pc using a controller. I suspect this is the controller UI misbahaving.

Same happened to me.. got insta failed by the spikes in the floor and got stuck, had to f4 out of the trial and boot up the game all over again..

+1. Playing on PC with controller. On the "failed trial" screen, no way to continue without going back to character select.

Same issue. I'm playing on PC with a controller. Only option is to back out to the character selection screen and try again. The game is not frozen, it's playing in the background and music is also playing.
