Killing The Mad Wolf Of Ogham while you're dead

If you die and kill the count while you are dead the game thinks you beat him and will continue but you won't get any loot or xp and you can't fight him again.

Same happened to me, but a bit different :)
In my first attempt I almost kill him (maybe I did?) but he killed me instead. I respawned and was able to fight him again, this time I killed him but there was NO loot.
Kind of disappointing end of an epic fight...
