Crash - Hard Lock

Several times when I portal to town or enter town the game hard locks. It freezes and I cannot even Alt-F4 or get out of the game window using Alt-TAB or any other command. Only option is to hard reboot.

I have the same issue. It could be a portal or just a transition to a new area. Game hard locks and I have to reboot. No AF4 no CtrlEsc no mouse. Nothing but holding down power for 5 seconds works.

Are you by chance on Windows11 24H2? And also have a Ryzen X series CPU?

If so this is the likely culprit.

If your CPU is currently overclocked try removing all OC settings or even slightly underclock it, this worked for me so far

Also had this issue about 7 times yesterday. So far today has been stable when I reduced Image quality from DLAA to Quality, from 16 to 8x texture, and renderer to vulkan. So far so good today - might have also been one of the hotfixes in the last 12 hours.

Sometimes my mouse would randomly still work extremely slowly but be entirely unresponsive. Some people reported this is a Windows 11 issue inherent in the most recent update - but I don't know if this is true.
