Failed to connect to instance

My game froze (or paused?) while I was fighting the first boss in the beginning of the game and then the game crashed. Now, (in the Steam OR GGG Client) when I try to create a new character or use an existing one it starts loading and then kicks me out and says "Failed to connect to instance".

Update 1: I can log in to some of my characters now, but like other people are describing if I try to leave the zone it kicks me out and gives me the failed to connect to instance error.

Update 2: I just kept switching login servers and for some reason when I'm on CA I appear to be able to log in and change zones for some reason. So maybe it's related to a certain server cluster? I see when I connect to CA the instance IP I'm connecting to changes.

Having the same or similar issues. Sometimes it lets me load back in a character, but disconnects me when I try to leave the area. Particularly annoying for a character stuck in clearfell encampment. On another toon in an active zone, I got disconnected when if I happen to die.

Same here, I try to go to town or any instance and brings me back to login screen with failed to load instance.

I've been experiencing this issue as well. I was in the Bone Pits and can't load back into the Act 2 Caravan so I can't advance the story. I tried making a new character and that happens when I go to Clearfell as well.

This is also happening to me I haven't been able to play for almost an hour now..

Same issue for me. For the last hour or so.

I am having the same issue. I have tried multiple servers, multiple characters, even made a new character. At the first load screen it always gives me this error.

Same, at first I wasn't even able to load into the tutorial area for a new character and after a bit I finally got in, but now Clearfell encampment has the same issue.

Same issue for me, make sure you type in /bug and get a reference ID.
