Loading times - areas or even world map
|
Loading times are kinda too long for my taste ..
I have SSD Kingston KC3000 and even opening just the world map under "U" by default, is taking quite a long time, 2-5 seconds. When entering new zones, it also takes 3-10 seconds. Last bumped on Dec 12, 2024, 9:35:28 AM

hello,
same feeling here. game been running alright for what I can see, but I have severe loading time. my whole install is on a 2TB M.2 SSD (corsair MP600 pro XT), and from what the task manager told me, I run on 70-100% CPU all the time and 20-30% GPU I have an i5 9600K (quite old, not easily upgradable) with 64 GB RAM and a RTX 3080 12 GB, I thought it would fare better. (for a 1920x1080 screen) I didn't touch much to the graphics settings, just toggled DLAA and DLSS on instead of their default choice, hoping to increase GPU charge. in fact, the game run smooth at a little over 100 FPS, but the loading time are ruining it (like hearing the videos and intros running before I get anything other than those 2 grinding gears on screen) (and i'm playing POE2 through the steam client) Everytime I yank a jawbone from a skull, then ram it in an eyesocket, I know I'm buildin' a better future ! +1 The world map loading time is crazy. I find myself cursing while I press U just to check smth bc I forget how long it takes.

Yeah, load times could be better.
After reaching act 2 I pressed u and had to wait 30+ seconds to see the map. How long can it takes to load one picture? Also every area has those double loading screens. First a normal one and then one with fire raining. |

Dont think it's a drive issue, looks like network latency and/or server (over)load one.

Same severe load times here on a M.2 SSD.
i5 8400, RTX 3070, on DX12, win11 ver23H2 Now, I know the CPU is the major bottleneck there, but the strange thing is the game runs completely fine outside of the long load times. I agree that it FEELS like a network issue, but the load times don't change if I change gateways, but they DO get shorter if I revisit areas. The difference to PoE1's 2-5 second load times is massive.. |

I'm having the same issues here as well. Takes like 4-8 seconds to open the map and 15-30 seconds to load zones.
Intel i5 9600k 16gb ddr4 2666mhz RX 6600xt WD Black sn750 (game is installed on it separate from c: drive) I'm playing at 1440p with textures set to high, lighting at medium, water at high and everything else set to low. Using FSR at balance with dynamic culling I manage to have around 60fps in zones and 35fps in town. Still in act 1 btw. I also have a problem with enemies, objects and effects being invisible for 10 or so seconds at times. Regarding the invisible enemies and such, I remember Zizaran asked Jonathan about it recently and he told him it is a known issue and really wants to fix it. It's just that I have been dealing with it in PoE1 for over a year, so who knows when things are going to be fixed. |

Same here.
I have Kingston 1 TB Renegade Gen 4 NVMe, it takes ages to load the world map. It's a map. It shouldn't be like this. Last edited by Voffon#0900 on Dec 9, 2024, 8:30:15 PM

Same problem here. The load times are so excessive.
Gen 4 NVMe SSD, 24 GB RAM, GTX 1070, W10, i5-9400F. Have verified files, changed between dx11, 12 and vulkan, changed gateways, tried a VPN, more or less all the same with long load times. |

pressing U also takes like 5 seconds for me. I knew it was cpu from poe 1 because same thing would also happen loading into other peoples hideout.
i5-8600k. It is funny how most people posted have i5 cpu. |
