Flash Grenade blinds the player, unsure if gem is incorrect wording or skill is wrong.

Gem says 'Blinds enemies and allies'
At the end of the gem it says you do not count as an ally. Yet flash grenade is blinding me if im near it when it goes off. Last bumped on Jan 21, 2025, 4:47:36 AM

Its friendly fire. Don't be too close to it.
A feature not a bug. Just worded a bit wrongly. OR get the node later on that makes you immune to it in a way. The merc has acess to the "while at full life you cant be blinded" for example. https://prnt.sc/4fbH3G8ZR6ig I personally plan to get some grenade action with my ranger too. So i am planning to take that to make life easyer. |

Oh right, hopefully they change the wording then, because i dont get damaged by my other grenades just blinded by flash grenade.
Thematically it makes sense but yeah the gem makes it seem like you should be immune to it |

" That's not merc's branch, that's between Monk and Ranger. Merc is straight down. "Cannot be blinded" jewels would be "must have". I thoguht that GGG wanted to get rid of "must have" items and of glass cannon meta. Yet every design decision made pushes actually toward these. Especially decision to make a slow ranged class to be armor/eva based, two worst defense types, much worse than PoE1. In PoE1 we had choice to use different types of defenses effectively or layer all three. Here passive tree pushes us to use a single combination, exacerbate the tie to the weapon types, but not always correct ones - merc works better with a bow than crossbow. As the armor got affinity to damage-related modifiers, the type of armor linked to the class also limits choice of weapons\skills used. Best crossbow synergy? A warrior with his slams mixed with flashbag and other grenades. PS. There are some odd things also. Why the hell there are one-handed nodes in merc's tree? To use shield and Molten Blast? It is absolute bullshit that it blinds the player. No other skill you can use (afaik) directly damages yourself, so why the flash grenade?
Also, the other weird thing is that it actually doesn't blind your allies, at least not other players. Only yourself and the enemies. At least it was that way before the 0.1.1 patch. |
