"You cannot add this login method..."

Because I'm dumb, I purchased Early Access to Path of Exile 2 through Steam, not realizing I wouldn't be able to pre-download the game. But, by visiting this link: https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/early-access I was able to get a key to add the game to my Epic Games library, where pre-download was possible. So that's what I did!

BUT, when I launch the game through EGL, I get an error saying my account does not have early access to POE2. I figured this is because my GGG account is not connected to my Epic Games account. So, I go to this link: https://www.pathofexile.com/my-account/connections and click "Connect" next to Epic Games. The first time I did this, it came up with an Epic Games webpage asking for permission to connect the 2 accounts, and I said yes. After that, and every time I've tried clicking Connect since, I've gotten a page that says this:

"You cannot add this login method to this account."
"You must complete the unlock process before continuing."

What unlock process must I complete? What are we talking about? I saw in another support thread that it had something to do with emails being assigned to both accounts (very vague statement), so thought maybe they can't have the SAME email. So, I tried changing my GGG email address - it asked for the new email, and my password, which I provided. It said an email/link would be sent to my email - the old one or the new one, not sure - but I can't find the email in either inbox/spam box/etc.

And, I can't change my Epic Games' email address, because the only other email address I have already has an Epic Games account assigned to it. I ain't creating a whole new email just to fix this. I'm downloading the Steam version of POE2 right now (assuming I can't just transfer POE2 from Epic to Steam by moving the files), but thought I'd post here in case someone knows what's actually causing this so I don't have to wait til tomorrow (gonna take 3 hours to download on my garbage internet).

I'm in a similar boat but getting this issue when trying to link my Microsoft account. I bought EA twice, once on steam and once on xbox so I can play my character across both platforms but I get this message when linking. Hopefully someone has some insight.

Fixed this issue - downloaded the PC client (non-steam) and logged in, which prompted me to unlock my account. It sent a verification code and I was able to unlock the account, then connecting to my xbox account worked fine after that. I imagine it would be the same for PS5. Just download the PC client, log in, unlock your account, then try again.

When I follow these steps it says "your account does not have access to path of exile 2 early access. Redeem an early access key on our website or purchase now"

I already purchased on PS5 and Steam. Do you know where the key is? I checked my poe website mail and email and nothing.
