If i don't have Steam key i can link my steam account and use the launcher from here?

I have the game (supporter pack) purchased over steam. Now the game is in my steam library but i hear i would need some steam key? If i go to my account/earlyaccess i don't see any key it say im not elegible for early access or so.
Now i hear if i don't have a steam key i could still link my steam account here and download the game from the standalone launcher. Would i then be able to play ? The next problem when i try to link the accounts it say: "Proceeding with this request will permanently associate your accounts. You will not be able to merge any further accounts with the same login methods (Steam) to this Path of Exile Account." Would this mean that if i do it then i cannot play poe 2 on steam at all and have to aways use the standalone launcher ? Last bumped on Dec 6, 2024, 1:11:52 PM

Hi there,
The Steam key that you are referring to is used by people who have purchased the Early Access Supporter Pack from our website, as they would only have access to the Standalone client unless they use a Client Key to activate either a Steam or Epic Games client. As you have purchased this on Steam, you do not require a Steam Client Key. " When merging your accounts, you will still be able to choose between playing on Steam or our Standalone client. The message is essentially warning you that if you merge a Steam and PC Path of Exile account, you will be unable to add any other new Steam or PC path of exile accounts to your account.
