Trying to connect Email with Steam Account

So I have an old steam account that I spent a little money on a starter pack (blood effect and a stash tab). As well as a currency tab. Now with the release of Path of Exile 2 I'm really excited and created a account with my main icloud email. But it doesn't have anything I purchased obviously. I could not find a delete account option so I changed the email to my secondary gmail. So I could free up my main icloud email and connect it to my steam (where I have the purchases). But when it sends a verification email to my iclould. All I get when I hit the link is: The resource you are looking for does not exist or has been removed.

I would like to link my main email to my steam account. Any help would be appreciated. Please and Thankyou.
