I got my early access key but i cant find where to pre download the client.

Is there a standalone client download?? Or do I need to activate it on steam or something?

If you have the Steam client app installed on PC, there should be a "Add a game" button on the bottom left hand corner. Click the button then add your POE2 EA code. This should add POE2 to your Steam library the you should be able to download.
