How do cross platform store points work?

I swallowed the bitter pill of having to buy PoE 2 Supporter Packs on both Steam and Xbox. I did this before connecting/merging my accounts but have done so since.

Hi there,
Players will be able to spend their points on either Xbox or PC, so long as they are signed into the same sub-account. Unfortunately we are unable to transfer points from one sub-account to another. Need help with anything? Please contact us at support@grindinggear.com for assistance.

Thanks for the quick reply, but...
So for PoE 1, things I buy from one sub account are not shared with the other sub-account. Correct? What about PoE 2? I guess I'm still also unclear on how the cross-platform-progress will work. Will I still be using two separate sub-accounts but they will both have access to the same characters? |

I think maybe I'm starting to understand. In PoE 1 I see where I can select an account regardless of what platform I'm on. If I can now play on Xbox with the same account I play on PC (account, not character), then I don't need the account that I had setup on Xbox. I never really played much on Xbox and don't care about anything over there. Unfortunately, my PoE 2 Xbox Supporter Pack is associated with that Xbox account. Any way to fix that and get rid of the extra account?
