Why i cant link my steam account to my mail?

when im trying to merge it my it says
"You cannot add this login method to this account.
The email on the account you want to merge must be verified to complete this process."

tried like 3 times and nothing happens. were i suppose to verify mail? if im trying to link it to my steam account? theres no mail in my mail box too.

You have to verify your account first. You probably got an email in the past where you have to click a link to verify . After the verification it should work.
