The Gaming Industry can sometimes provide a negative environment. Players constantly arguing. Gaming Studios taking advantage of their consumers etc.

Just wanted to say. After your most recent chat with a twitch streamer. You came across as honest, transparent and have always known your audience very well.

Was a really great interview with plenty of information.

Hope you guys enjoy launch as much as the players do 👍

Amen.
I concur. It was great to see Jonathan spend so much time answering community questions only days out from the EA.

I don't want to get too down on the guy because real artists ship, so its pretty different than somebody like Peter Molyneux who basically went out and sold the vision board instead of the product they actually made, but there is a large amount of broken promises related to path of exile (not 2) that were made at exilecon 1 that remain unfulfilled and unaddressed. Like I get it, they've created a hungry beast that needed a lot of resources and they as a studio are in uncharted territory when it comes to managing multiple projects and if I'm an investor I'd be looking to bring somebody in to bring these madmen closer to the road and get Path of Exile and Path of Exile Mobile back on track.

I sincerely hope that every single player enjoys path of exile 2 more than I do, it looks like its going to be a great product and probably, at least, a pretty good game.

i ll be honest.

i had a lot of hatred towards jonathan because he was the messenger who delivered the news that poe 2 was separate from poe1.

i still remember him delivering the news with his cheery face and it was met with a pause and a confused applaud.

i was high on copium but as the latest exilecon continued on, the more info we got. the more solidified this information became.

i was seething.

i hated ggg for what they did. now that i think about it. i actually cant remember if its genuine hatred or disappointment. but i do remember being very upset.

all the time i spent on standard was in preparation for poe2 where i would potentially wreck havoc with my legacy gear. many hours spent. many supporter packs bought.

but that has changed. interestingly enough it was jonathan himself that made me learn to accept the change. i watched many of his interviews where he was candid and seemed sheepish to acknowledge. POE1 melee is FUCKED. fixing melee was not just a mechanical rework. monsters and bosses had to be designed from the ground up to accommodate melee.

in a way i m forced to recognize that ggg was forced to make this change. they were even willing to accept hatred/backlash from POE1 diehards in order to make a better game.

to put it into an analogy. poe1 is a funfair built by passionate folk but on a swampland. they've put a lot of effort into making the foundation safe but its seems like theres a lot of duct tape everywhere. of course we would prefer if more attractions are added into the funfair, but it would never solve the fact that its built on unstable grounds. poe2 is a built with proper infrastructure. proper foundation. unlike poe1 which has an amalgamation of old and new piping/wiring, poe2 has all the proper considerations learned from years of toiling in the first location. the new location is better, modular and built in a way that allows development.

nowadays whenever i see him and his cheery smile i cant help but feel joy. he seems to be enjoying himself, eager to share news about his lovechild (poe2). tho some of the things being revealed are things i may not agree with. he's brimming with so much positive energy thats very rare to see in todays day and age.

regardless of how poe2 is gonna turn out. i would say i appreciate him and his energy

Watching gigachad Jonathan talk so passionately about poe is just the best entertainment.
I see PoE Deuce as GGG's Edsel, and Jonathan Rogers as Henry Ford II. Throw a bunch of cool and trendy new ideas together, and it will surely find success and popularity.

When i see how much considerations they take for the players that make me want to buy a supporter pack just for the sake of supporting this company.

this is how i legit felt with cyberpunk last time before it was revealed to be a dumpsterfire.

but if theres any game devs that i feel worthy for me to just throw wads of cash at them. ggg is one of them even after considering whatever shortcomings they have.
