Unlocking clients on different platforms - not granting Early Access

Hello, I think clarification is needed. I've read in FAQ this:

Please note these keys only unlock the client in your library, they do not on their own provide early access to your account.

As an example, if you purchase a Supporter Pack through the Path of Exile website, you will be able to claim a key to unlock the client in your Steam Library.

By this it seems, if I want to support creators directly, even paying more than is Steam's regional pricing (as is my intention), by buying 30$ Early Access (EA) on the PoE2 website I will get Early Access only on their stand-alone client (platform) and if I redeem Steam key it would only unlock the 'the client' on my Steam account but I would not be able to play Early Access on Steam since it "does not on their own provide early access to your account."? Is that right?

Same goes with another variation. If I were to buy EA on Steam and for some reason (not hacking) my account would be deleted/terminated, would I still be able to access the same in-game profile on stand-alone client? How this works in EA and in general?

Will achievements on Steam unlock when I log (on Steam) into game account I've been using only on standalone client?

Sorry if this is unnecessary, I'm not that familiar with this, I never played PoE1, just waited for PoE2. Thanks in advance.

Hey Ariel#1490,

You should find the Steam key and the Epic keys do not grant access to Path of Exile 2 for Early Access.

They simply unlock the launchers through the respective clients.

For example, if you have a purchased a Supporter Pack that contains Early Access, or have reached the lifetime threshold, only your Path of Exile account would receive Access.

If you only use Steam to play Path of Exile, you would need to redeem the Steam code in your Steam Library.

If you only use Epic to play Path of Exile, you would need to redeem the Epic code in your Epic Library.

Thanks a lot for quick response.

So last clarification please, do I understand correctly that the progress (gaming profile) that I did on one platform is NOT shared to other platforms? (Steam, Epic, stand-alone)

Buying Early Access on PoE2 website will grant me Early Access ONLY on stand-alone PoE2 client? And redeeming Steam key will NOT allow me play Early Access on Steam? In order to play on Steam AND on stand-alone PoE2 client would then require purchasing of 2 Early Access packs on Steam and on website respectively?

Sorry, I find it a bit confusing.
As stated in our Early Access FAQ:
"
How to redeem a key?
Upon purchasing your first supporter pack that includes an Early Access key, that key will be automatically redeemed on the account the purchase was made. You don’t have to do anything else, just download the game client when it’s available and login on launch day!
By purchasing an early access supporter pack on the Path of Exile website, you get an early access key and optional storefront client keys to use.

There is a distinction between storefront client keys and early access keys. In this case, a Steam or Epic client key should be made available to you with your early access supporter pack. These keys only unlock the client in your library, they do not on their own provide early access to your account. These client keys do not need to be used if you only intend to play on standalone client.

Then there are the early access keys, which grants a Path of Exile account early access to Path of Exile 2. If you did not previously have early access from another key, as stated above, this key purchased will be automatically applied to your account. If you buy a pack with multiple keys, or more packs after getting early access, you will have extra keys which you may use or distribute as you wish.

Without a client key, a player cannot add the game to their PC third-party storefront game library of choice to download, and without an early access key, the player account cannot play Early Access.
