POE 2 Beta Question - Those of us with Stand-Alone Client Accounts and Seperate Steam Accounts

"
When does Early Access start on all platforms?
Path of Exile 2 will launch in Early Access at 11am December 6th PST which is Dec 06, 2024 2:00 PM (EST) in your local time on all supported platforms, including a standalone PC client, Steam and Epic Games Store clients as well as Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.

Hey cancera!

I'm afraid Early Access keys are platform specific. If you have Early Access for PC, you will then be able to play using the stand-alone, Steam, or Epic clients.

Even if your Path of Exile account already has Early Access on PC, you'll need to purchase a supporter pack on the console of your choosing in order to play Path of Exile 2's Early Access on that console.

I am a bit confused.
How does this work for those of us that don't use steam?
I have primarily used Path of Exile's stand-alone client?

Does this mean that if I use the steam key, my current POE account and it's MTX's will not count towards the early access? (Or the Future POE 2 release version?)

For clarification purposes...

1.) I currently don't use Steam but use Path of Exiles Stand-alone client.
2.) I have a verry old Steam Account version of Path of Exile, that I haven't used since POE 1 Beta. (Years ago I was told that I could switch to the stand-alone POE 1 client, but that I couldn't transfer my characters or MTX from the steam account to the stand-alone client account.)
3.) I don't want my steam account version of POE 2 to be associated with my old Beta POE 1 steam-only account.
4.) I want the stand-alone client version of POE 1 to be associated with my Beta POE 2 account.
5.) How can I run the POE 2 Beta using a stand-alone client not associated with steam or EPIC, because of the above?

Hi thank you for your post. This is exactly my question.

I just got my key last night on my PM in this website. But it says steam. I don't use steam for PoE. All my MTX, everything is on the standalone. Is my account already activated when I download the PoE2 client next week or do I HAVE to use steam. If I have to use steam, it's a bit of a deal breaker for me.
Hi there,

We apologize for any confusion around this subject. Just to clarify, when your account either has had a historic spend total greater than $480 USD, or purchases an Early Access supporter pack, then your Path of Exile account will automatically be granted Early Access.

This by default will only be granted for our Path of Exile standalone client, but players can choose to also activate Steam or Epic games by navigating to my-account/early-access and claiming one of the Client Keys there.

The clients will be made available for download a few days prior to the Early Access beginning.

Thanks Jarod. This answers my question. Really pumped for next week. Thanks again.

Thank you for your lightning fast response and clarification.
It really is appreciated! (You are most likely being bombarded with questions.)

If I understood you correctly.

1.) My Stand-alone client POE 1 account automatically has access to the POE 2 Beta, since I met the $480 spend requirement.
I will be able to download a stand-alone POE 2 Beta client, a week before the beta is released.

2.) The Steam key is an "Additional" key that I can freely use on a "different / separate" POE 2 Beta Steam Account.
It does not associate my POE 1 stand-alone client account with a POE 2 Beta Steam Account?
