Just Returned: What is theFuture for PoE1 After PoE2?
Title. Will the game still be running and get updated, or will it get put on maintenance mode? Or did they mention anything about merging the two games later down the line somehow?
On an unrelated note, how long is the current season set to last? It's been a very very long time since I've been here. Time to rekindle that flame. Last bumped on Nov 27, 2024, 7:22:48 AM

PoE 1 is already on maintenance mode with leagues being every 4-8 months, next poe 1 league may be in a late february.

Will POE2 be the POE1 killer?
Stay tuned. |

" Their goal is to develop both simultaneously with alternating leagues. Their goal was also releasing 4 leagues a year. Evidently and naturally things do not always go as planned. We can hope things will be a bit more normal after PoE2 gets the full release. Otherwise people are going to be very upset(more than already is the case). If PoE2 has a lot of issues in EA expect a lot of resources to stay on poe2 development until it is sorted out since that is the game that has to carry them financially post release. PoE 2 could be a heavy hit for poe1 if received badly but if it does great financially we can at least hope it will carry poe 1 development for a long while still.Best case scenario is if both games are still great post release. Alrighty, understood. The game shall still be worked on even with PoE2 out, and I still have time left for the current League.
Thank you for the answers you three/four. It's been a very very long time since I've been here.
Time to rekindle that flame. |

Supposedly, the plan is to have both games work side by side. Have a league in POE 1.....and after a while 1 in POE 2 so you could play both.....at least that was the initial plan.....
Now we have to wait and see how well POE 2 does. If it does too well it might canibalize the players from POE 1. So for now, we wait and see. |
