Hoping for an EA Leaderboard

I sure hope they put out a leaderboard for the EA. Would be nice to have a chance of taking a spot. Maybe even a demi god, one can hope.

Its early access man. Adding such thing would be beyond stupid. You payed to test stuff out for them. Its not some headstart release.

"Im 99.9% sure there will be a leaderboard. However that does not mean they would give away a demigod. Demigod race rewards are completely separate from the implementation of a leaderboard or assigning rewards to placement on the leaderboard. There likely won't be rewards for the leaderboard because they expect to be making significant changes during our gameplay. It would potentially end up being very unfair if someone uses an overpowered combo that they nerf within a few hours because they did not intent for it to be that strong. |

Don't quote me on this, but I think they explicitly said they won't have a leaderboard API on Dec 6th, because it just isn't finished yet.
Of course it will come as soon as they can get to it, it just hasn't been the highest priority in getting the EA out. And remember, there is no Delve, so that wouldn't even be on the leaderboard. It might be that this happens when they figure out what their "leaderboard-able" mechanic is for POE2. I'm thinking of the EA as the "worlds most polished and stable in-flux open beta", because not only is the game obviously not "done" for release, but they said they will be fixing things and launching content and classes throughout the EA... so things may break and change along the way. "He said something along those lines, but he did not say it wasn't finished, he said they just need someone to port it over from POE1. But he also said it in a tone that made it sound like the it was the easiest thing in the world. He also followed up with saying if its not done by 6 Dec it would be out very quickly afterwards. |
