Soul Ascension Gloves and Oriath's End flask - Soul Eater buff restarted same as flask

I have been playing with Soul Ascension gloves for quite a while and yesterday decided to try Oriath's End with my build and noticed that I cant get more than 10 Soul Eater stacks. The buff kept restarting over and over again. The flask was the only thing that I had changed. Literally I removed the flask in the middle of a map and the Soul Eater buff was fine afterwards.

maybe something similar to this issue here is going on?
