Settler League forces to log in regulary

With the introduction of settler league the game I love introduced another dark pattern. The real-time clock (Treasury empty in ...) is a new element that forces players to log in regulary to prevent losing progress in the settlement.

I know there are many companies publishing free-to-play games that use all kind of dirty tricks to tie players to the game. But up to now PoE was imho a rather friendly game. But this feature is a step towards the dark side.

You shouldn't have done this, you shouldn't do this and you should get rid of it as soon as the league ends.

You literally cannot lose progress in your settlement.

So, "no" to the entire premise of this thread.
Thank you for your answer pirate. But my point is not about the consequence of letting the timer run down (I assumed 'losing progress' but you corrected me to 'no more progress'). My point is the real-time clock in the game running down and the intended pychological effect it has on players.
You lose nothing more than you'd lose by not logging in and not running maps or whatever during that time
Just build up buffer.

I have 3 days for Kingsmarch to sustain.
