New Boss life bar visually stuck at invulnerable

I was fighting Malachai. When he opened the first heart, the HP bar changed to golden (which as I've gathered from previous bosses = invulnerable). After killing the heart the HP bar remained golden till the end of the fight, though he was taking damage normally.
