Constant crashes possibly after updating GeForce game ready driver
Hi,
I wonder if there is anyone who's having the same issue. Today, I had to update the GeForce game ready driver, numbered 555.99 released today. The problem I am having now is that right after having this update done, I literally cannot play the game because it crashes nonstop (almost all crashes are even before I see my character in Karui Shores, the town of the epilogue before getting my character into my hideout.). I am suspecting strongly these constant crashes are because of the update of the GeForce driver because I haven't had these many crashes before. I am curious about whether any of you experience the same problem and whether this could be dealt with. Last bumped on Nov 27, 2024, 9:14:59 PM

I have exactly the same issue. None of my characters can even log into the game anymore because they all freeze on the loading screen and then the game crashes without any error codes.

Are you all on the standalone client or Steam/Epic?

Standalone client for me.
However, I managed to fix the issue by getting the gameready driver directly from the nvidia site (usually I just install them directly whenever there's a notification popup) and reinstalling the client afterward. |

I play via the standalone client. Have never played via Steam or Epic. I may try what purplythornysunsets did if it is really the way to deal with the issue (Thank you purplythornysunsets for sharing your way), but I am still curious why this kind of issue is caused.
I have tried the way purplythornysunsets mentioned, but it never works for me. I hope there is a way to fix this issue. Last edited by ksm2424#1245 on Jun 5, 2024, 11:28:42 AM

I have found that people are complaining about the game ready driver 555.99 which causes issues for other games. So I have just rolled back to the very previous version of the game ready driver. It is 555.85. I can play POE now with this 555.85 version, proving 555.99 is really an issue.

Just as a heads up on the different driver releases for nvidia...
Some of my friends that play other games have had massive stutter and game crashing issues with the 3 most recent driver releases (555.99, 555.85, 552.44). They've all rolled back to the January release 551.23 and their issues disappeared. When doing any roll back, I'd highly recommend doing DDU properly in Safe Mode.
