Death in HC, no lag and still have omen of death dancing

Hello,
I died in HC but I don't understand why. I have a pretty decent gear, I played safe, I don't have lag and I just died, for no reason. My omen of death dancing is still in my inventory. How can I know what I did wrong? Is it possible to revert if it's a bug? Last bumped on May 3, 2024, 6:14:39 PM

No offense, but are you really asking if dying is a bug? You're shocked you got 1 shot in HC with "pretty decent gear"?
Join softcore army, bud. It's takes a certain temperament to play HC given how many instant death mechanics there are in the game. It's not for everybody and that's ok. As for knowing what killed you PoE doesn't have a death log, but if you have buffs/debuffs/auras/etc. positioned top left of your screen you can often extrapolate what went wrong. Did u do Ritual by any chance while dying?
I had a Omen fail to proc today while dying during a Ritual encounter. (Omen of Amelioration) |

I've died at least 4x where none of my omens triggered. I just gave up using them. It's like they work 50% of the time tops.
PoE 1 is the best. PoE 2 is something.

Its simple./ Omen only triggers when your life gets below 25%. Your life never did. If you go from 100% to 0%, it has no chance to activate, because you never dropped below 25% -you died.

Death Dancing saves you from most shotguns. It won't save you from true one-shots. Your character didn't have spell suppression capped, only 3.9k life and only 1% chaos resistance.
Honestly, was only a matter of time.. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
