Exalted Holy Relic MTX doesn't work with Holy Relic of Conviction Level 21

Using the mtx worked with at 20/20 holy relic of conviction, but it gives me this message with holy relic of conviction 21/20. FWIW the 21/20 is a new gem I purchased from another player rather than being a new corruption of the gem I had been using.
