Acton's Nightmare Unique Map Music

Does anyone have a video or source for the music? I really want to show it off to friends/listen to is but it's almost nowhere to be found on the internet.

And unfortunately unlike most games you cant go into the folders and pull out the audio files from a folder as everything is combined into one file =P

Can anyone help me with this?

You'd probably do well to message Andrew_GGG over this one. I heard he composed it.

I have the music myself -- pinched it from the email account of the person who made Acton's Nightmare (hehehe that'll teach her to leave her accounts logged in when she's not home!) and recall the process of her describing how it should sound.

This raises a bigger issue -- as the game grows, more and more music is added and changed. We already have a far superior version of Lioneye's Watch and Piety's theme added since the 'original sound track' was released at Open Beta's commencement. I think GGG should make these available on the site, since it's free to play and all that.

Confession: to get piety's music and the new Lioneye's Watch arrangement as mp3s I used Audacity. :)

Unfortunately I don't have that kind of e-mail power so I can't snatch it up so easily.

It definitely fits the map and made the whole experience very scary and intimidating. Brought me back to my first experience of the prison.

I had the same thought: The soundtrack was released, sure, but lots of tracks are added with new maps and updating old tracks, etc., that I think it should definitely be released publicly; its a beautiful soundtrack after all. =)

It's a soundtrack very easy to underestimate in today's world of Hollywood-style epic game soundtracks, those bombastic sound-explosions, overproduced and soulless.

The only stream I've seen of the Nightmare was Kripp and krew facerolling it, so I haven't gotten to hear the music in context yet.

I keep nagging IronCageSkirt to level a char up so we can go suffer it together. ^_^

I have not heard the music yet, but based on what people have told me it seems to be pretty good. If you could get a whole loop or even just a small bit of it on there, I and many others would appreciate it.

I'll have a chat with the right people about it. Although it is free to play, Acton's Nightmare isn't as instantly 'accessible' as, say, Lioneye's Watch. For now, the girl and GGG might want that particular tune a little out of easy reach.

Thanks for the link! Mostly all I hear is 'boom!' and 'hyaa!' but it's definitely a better representation of how the map was designed to be experienced than the first video I saw.

edit: just watched it through with IronCageSkirt, who was vastly amused by the Rose/Thorn res loop. :)

Speak for your fuckin self, Charan, I liked the old one so much better. It was calming. And the new one is all BOM BOM BOM BOM BOMBOM BOM BOM BOM as if it's supposed to be leading up to a boss fight or something.
