Sacred Wisps bug with Rathpith Globe

As worded on Rathpith Globe, "Sacrifice 10% of life when you use or trigger a spell skill". As worded on Sacred Wisps, "Supports attack skills that can be used by wands". Note though that Sacred Wisps support has the gem tag "spell".

When you use an attack with a wand and trigger Sacred Wisps, you lose 10% life due to Rathpith Globe for each trigger. I believe this is happening due to the spell tag on Sacred Wisps. Is this interaction working as intended and thus Sacred Wisps are making the wand attack skill a triggered spell? If not, then Sacred Wisps should lose its spell tag and allow the interaction with Rathpith Globe to null and void the loss of 10% life for each trigger.
