State of Bossing

Hello GGG,

I wanted to leave feedback on recent changes in regards to bossing.

I am currently playing Trapper on Softcore trade, and the damage is great, however...

There is no reason to do any of non uber bosses, the only thing "worth" doing is Non-uber Cortex for Bottled Faith, which dropped once in 30+ cortexes that I've done.

I do 28 maps for Searing or Eater, just to get the invitation that does not drop anything meaningful. The invitation costs more than the best drop that I can get.

There is literally 0 reasons to do non-uber variants of those bosses due to the big drops being gated behind the uber bosses.

Uber variants are locked behind T17, which are harder than Uber bosses given the way that you roll them with crazy modifiers, and even then..

You have 1,6% chance to get the map, meaning it is rare, to have to deal with very strong mobs in a very rippy map that u have to spend 20+ chaos to roll so that it does not brick your build, just to get 2 random fragments.

That means that you have to do (best case scenario) 3 T17 maps that are more a choir how hard they are than enjoyment or excitement, to get 5(6) fragments, to fight one uber boss that will probably drop nothing.

I am currently having around 45 million pinnacle boss damage, and with non-uber boss farming tactic I am earning around 10 div for 8 hours of play.. That's 1.25 div per hour, with a build that's worth around 100 div, meanwhile there are tactics with meatsacks, previously rouge exiles etc. that are printing a mageblood per day.

What exactly is the endgame plan that you are having?

TLDR;

1. Previous Notables on the atlas that made your boss an uber variant was more healthy, since you could opt in to do the content, using the same invitation, making them actually useful.

2. Non-uber bossing is making 0 currency, however it is harder to accomplish than most of the "mapping" strategies.

3. I have tried a lot of strategies throughout the leagues, and I can tell that Non-uber bossing is one of the least profitable ones.

4. T17's need to be nerfed again, since at this state, they are harder than uber bosses.

One suggestion at the end. Maybe doing T17 map drops 3 fragments, of which u need only one with the fragments for the boss to do the uber variant, that way all those fragments are not the same value as sacrificial fragments, you have to do the choir (T17) occasionally, and you keep the fragments being useful.

Completely agree, bossing is in a terrible state. It's demoralised me more than anything I've ever experienced. Bossing should be fun and it's just not. You get nothing for it.

Meanwhile Fubgun and Ben/Ruetoo are printing 20 magebloods a map and abusing every mechanic you can think of.

GGG took a huge dump on anything I found fun in this game and I can't stand it anymore.

Honestly we all play the game in the state it's in, we're all here.
PoE is top of the line for its genre, but I must admit it does seem sometimes that GGG hates fun. The bossing this league is absolutely nuts.

I've been very unimpressed with how they're handling the endgame. They don't really seem to know what they want it to look like and they are getting absolutely stuck on themselves by having to do *SOMETHING* to make it punishing and dumb for no reason. They think every give has to be offset with take.

Every moment this league unless you are doing some dumb meme strat you are just a broke and sad mess unless you're very very lucky like me who duplicated a hinekora's lock out of a strongbox.

Over a hundred divine has passed through my hands this league. Exactly ONE was just a natty drop where I kill monster and it pops out onto the floor. Every other one I've gotten was either selling broken scarabs and allflames to someone else that was doing some juicer strat because my build/pc probably couldn't handle it.

I don't need to be dropping a mageblood worth a day. I don't WANT the game to be that rewarding because that's how it gets boring.

But right now there's no reason to want to kill bosses in this game because nothing will pop out of it that I want to use or want to sell for profit.

I made a post the other day complaining about T17's because they're very rippy and you have to spend a lot of currency making them doable. I still have made net loss on currency on every T17 I've ran so far, so I'm giving up on them. They're punishing and dumb for no reason. Like a lot of this game right now.

Non-uber bossing makes 0 currency? Have you tried Elder? UnID Watcher's Eyes are worth 2div at ilvl85, while ilvl87 is 7div for (non-uber) Uber Elder. Additionally, Shaper's UE fragments are worth more than the Shaper Guardian maps needed to fight him, and Dying Sun is still available in his non-uber version which is going for a lot of currency. Non-uber Exarch and Eater can still drop their unique jewels.

Additionally, try running guardians so you can farm their invitations. Everyone likes to sleep on Maven witnessing in favor of eldritch altars.

If anything, bossing has become more popular as the league goes. You want proof? The non-uber Exarch invitation has increased in price 5 times since the start of the league.
